2017 Youth Conference

The Mentorship Program successfully hosted the second annual Youth Conference: The Power of Voice on May 19^th, 2017. Over 350 youth registered for this fun-filled, inspiring day. The event was held at the Genesis Centre, an easily accessible location for all youth from across Calgary. Several of Canada’s diverse cultures were showcased at this event through dance and music including West African, Aboriginal and Bollywood dancing, Arabic singing and a cross-cultural fashion show. Throughout the day, the youth were inspired by motivational speakers and the eight breakout sessions provided them the opportunity to learn more about a topic of interest. The day’s events equipped and encouraged them to use their voices confidently and to empower others to make a difference.
