2019 Youth Conference: The Power of Voice

The Youth Conference – Power of Voice 2019 was held last April 27^th, 2019 at the Central Library. This year’s theme was Connecting Cultures and Empowering Minds. The Conference had a series of interactive breakout sessions and panels geared at providing youth with the necessary tools they require to navigate their new surroundings, including influencing their community through art, entrepreneurship, social justice and healthy masculinity. The youth also got a chance to hear speakers who have experienced similar challenges as them, and are now thriving in Canadian society. This year’s performers were all CBFY youth who shared their talents that showcased their Cultural Heritage by doing a dance and song number, spoken poetry, beat box and playing of musical instruments.
