Umashanie School
This week, the University of Calgary Bachelor of Education students were tasked to design a school that aligned with their personal pedagogical philosophy. With a focus on community involvement and fostering a lifetime commitment to community service and volunteerism, the students picked CBFY Executive Director Umashanie Reddy as their inspiration. “As a humanitarian and an individual that has committed her life to help others, we decided to name our school after you: Umashanie School. We are honoured to have you be the role model that our students aspire to become,” says project participant Maja Daljevic. Umashanie was warmly welcomed by students at Doucette Library as they presented their final project.
