Youth Conference

The Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth celebrated their 2016 Youth Conference: The Power of Voice on April 22, 2016. The event was a huge success with approximately 300 youth attending. The youth gathered at the John Dutton Theatre for a day filled with themes of inspiration, empowerment, entertainment and story-telling. Youth from all over Calgary attended, as well as representatives from 10 different organizations in Calgary. Attendees enjoyed youth performances, guest speakers, a city wide guest panel, inspirational videos, chances to win door prizes, information booths and a conversation with two recently arrived Syrian refugees. Youth left the conference feeling empowered with their new friends, knowing they had the power of voice to speak up for themselves as immigrant youth. Strong connections were made between those who attended, as well as between the youth and the various organizations of the community.
