2026 Youth Achievement Award Scholarship Application

WHO CAN APPLY?
✦ Current Grade 12 students who have the required credits to graduate high school OR upgrading students who already hold a high school diploma but are upgrading marks for admission into post-secondary education, trades, or other training programs.
✦ Must be a client, participant or volunteer in one or more CBFY programs
✦ Not a previous winner of a CBFY scholarship
✦ Applicants must be planning to enroll in a university, college, trade school, upgrading, certification, or other training/education program for Fall 2026 in Canada.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUBMIT:
✦ A project in the format that best expresses your story. You may choose from the following formats:
- Written essay or story (maximum 1200 words)
- Video (maximum 3 minutes)
- Audio recording/podcast (maximum 5 minutes)
- Multimedia presentation
✦ One written reference
(from a teacher, faith-based leader, coach, youth worker, work supervisor, etc. – please do not use a family member as a reference)
✦ Proof of current school enrollment. You can upload:
- a report card
- a school transcript
- proof of registration
- or a letter from your school or upgrading program
Your grades will not be used to decide your application. This is only to confirm that you meet the scholarship requirements.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
✦ Application deadline: Friday, July 31, 2026 at 11:59 PM (Calgary Time)
✦ Ten scholarships are available, valued at $1500 each
✦ Award funds will be provided directly to successful recipients. The scholarship may be used for upgrading courses or marks, as well as tuition and related costs for universities, colleges, trade schools, or other post-secondary education and training programs.
✦ Applicants must be the original author of their submission. AI tools may be used for brainstorming or idea development, but the final work must reflect the student’s own thoughts, voice, and writing, and cannot be copied or generated word-for-word by AI.
✦ Award winners will be invited to attend CBFY’s Youth Achievement Awards Gala on October 23, 2026 and may be invited to attend other CBFY events throughout the year.
