BridgeFest: Games, Activities, and Family Fun!

July 23, 2026 | Read Time: 1 Min. | Events, Summer Program

Thank you to everyone who made BridgeFest so much fun this year!

More than 160 children and youth came with their families to Ernest Morrow School on July 23 for a morning of games, music, activities, and family fun.

Youth and their families who registered for either of our summer camp sessions were invited to the event. When they arrived at BridgeFest, they received a ticket for our raffle prizes, snacks, CBFY swag, and our programming information.

Outside, students were able to spin the prize wheel to win stickers, notepads, temporary tattoos, and more. We also had a parachute set up for students to play with, and lawn games like soccer.

Inside, the Ernest Morrow Gym was bustling! Families lined up for make-your-own pins, stickers, and bracelets. There was also a table where our summer camp staff hennaed hands with people’s design choices – we saw intricate flowers, moons, and butterflies! We had a face paint station too, run by more of our summer camp staff.  There was also a photobooth, with silly props for families to pose with!

We are grateful to our community partners who set up booths for BridgeFest, giving families a chance to learn more about their resources and program information.  Thank you to Canadian Immigrant Women’s Association (CIWA), Calgary Police, Calgary Public Library (who brought their Book Truck!), Future Cricket Stars Academy, Between Friends, Planet Youth, Calgary Newcomer’s Guide, and the Calgary Police Discovery Centre.

At the event, we were able to raffle off some amazing prizes for our students. Students won basketballs, board games, a pair of Bluetooth headphones, and a Bluetooth speaker! Mirel won our grand prize – a Samsung Galaxy Tablet! Congratulations to all our raffle winners!

Thank you to the Calgary Board of Education for allowing us to use Ernest Morrow as our BridgeFest location. Thank you to Malek and Rebecca and the Bridge Summer Camp Team who worked so hard to organize this amazing event!

We are so grateful to all the families who came out for such a fun morning of friendship and celebration! We loved BridgeFest, and we hope you did, too!
