Program Team Lead

Job Objective:
As a Program Team Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of a team of SWIS Workers, Youth Workers, and other professionals working on a program or project. Your role is to ensure the successful execution and delivery of the program by providing guidance, support, and leadership to the team. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders, including managers, and other team leaders, to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of successfully managing complex programs.
Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
Leadership & Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day management to a team of settlement, youth workers and other professionals, ensuring alignment with program goals and organizational values.
- Facilitate regular team meetings, communicate executive directives and ensure clear understanding of policies, updates and performance expectations.
- Deliver ongoing coaching, mentorship and support to staff to foster growth and maintain high-quality service delivery
- Assign and delegate responsibilities effectively, including oversight of volunteer and practicum staff
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks to program delivery, developing contingency plans as needed
- Oversee and coordinate team schedules, staff commitments, and ensure operational coverage, stepping in as required
- Guide curriculum development and lesson plan implementation to meet program objectives.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide regular feedback, and support professional development opportunities tailored to team needs
- Review and provide feedback on staff work reports, conduct regular one-on-one check-ins, and monitor overall team performance
- Stay informed on sector trends and best practices to inform program enhancements and continuous improvement
- Contribute to succession planning by identifying and developing internal talent
- Support budget planning and expense monitoring by (1) collaborating on budget proposals for team projects, and (2) recommending effective allocation of resources and identifying new opportunities.

- Respond to partner and community inquiries and represent the organization at events such as open houses and community functions.
- Coordinate cross-functional collaboration to optimize resource use and program effectiveness.
Occupational Health & Safety:
- Ensure to take all precautions to protect the staffs’ health and safety.
- Ensure that staff work in accordance with the OHS provincial legislation.
- Ensure that staff are not subjected to or participate in harassment or violence.
- Advise staff of all known or reasonably foreseeable hazards.
- Report on OHS concerns.
- Cooperate with any person exercising duty under legislation.
- Comply with legislation.

Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in the field of Education, Social Work, Human Services, or a related discipline. A master’s degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in managing projects or programs, preferably in the non-profit environment.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Solid understanding of program planning, risk management, and quality assurance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
