About the position:

The Senior Youth Worker – Afterschool and Mentorship Program plays a key leadership and coordination role within the Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth (CBFY). This position works in close collaboration with team leaders, frontline staff, program administrators, managers, and members of the Executive Team. The primary responsibility is to collaboratively plan, coordinate, lead, and support the delivery of youth-focused programming across multiple streams, contributing to positive outcomes for newcomer children and youth.

Scope of Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with team leads, the Youth Program Coordination Committee, and frontline staff to ensure high-quality program delivery, enhance youth engagement, and support organizational goals.
  • Work closely with the Research, Evaluation & Impact Strategist to improve curriculum design, surveys, and evaluation frameworks, contributing to continuous program innovation and impact.
  • Participate in summer camp program planning for elementary/junior high school age groups using project management strategies, with specific responsibilities for:
  • Canada Summer Job Application and proposal process in coordination with People and Culture team.
  • Position related commitments (job postings, interviews, hiring, oversight of summer projects/programs, developing team responsibilities, registration processes/fees, budget request preparations, program evaluation, and other required duties) in collaboration with HR and management.
  • In partnership with program managers and the Director of Programs, coordinate and lead CBFY’s participation in Teachers’ Conventions, including presentation development and booth set-up.
  • Actively contribute to team meetings by sharing updates, identifying challenges, and co-creating strategies to enhance program effectiveness.
  • Provide and support training for youth program staff; participate in leadership development opportunities and maintain required certifications.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of program activities, reports, and evaluations in accordance with CBFY policies and expectations.
  • Decision-Making & Authority:
    • This role requires strong collaboration and proactive engagement with internal stakeholders. The Senior Youth Worker monitors program performance, ensuring alignment with CBFY’s mission, strategic priorities, and core values.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Required:

  • Post-secondary education in Social Work, Education, Child and Youth Care, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience working with youth in a program delivery or coordination role.
  • Demonstrated experience with project and event coordination.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and team leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of evaluation and impact measurement practices.
  • Experience working with newcomer or culturally diverse populations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and digital collaboration tools.
  • Current First Aid/CPR and a valid Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector.

Desired:

  • Familiarity with Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program processes.
  • Experience delivering leadership training or capacity-building workshops.
  • Fluency in an additional language spoken by newcomer communities in Calgary.
