Job Objective
The Project Coordinator, Justice Programs will oversee the program design, project management, budgeting and implementation strategies for program activities and events for Bridges to Justice and Bridges to Canadian Law outside-of-school programs for newcomer youth. Responsibilities will include collaborating with both administrative and EAL school leaders as well as CBFY internal staff such as the TRIACT Team, Program Managers and Team Leaders, and both identifying and securing appropriate schools/community locations and/or field trips. Designing this program will be a collaborative process involving external agencies and support in a variety of ways, recognizing the essential need to foster continuing, positive relationships with our sector and community partners. The Project Coordinator will also be involved in hiring, training, supervising and evaluating project staff as per CBFY protocols, policies and procedures, and will attend internal leadership meetings as required. The Project Coordinator, Justice Programs, will report to the Program Manager – Enhancements. This is a .75 FTE position, 30 hours per week, with commensurate benefits.
Scope of Duties & Responsibilities:

Organization & Coordination
- Assume Program Management responsibilities for developing and overseeing the implementation of two Justice Programs January 2025 – December 2027 in support of junior and senior high school newcomer and vulnerable youth
- Coordinate, oversee and develop an implementation schedule for educational and recreational activities in support of the Bridges to Justice and Bridges to Canadian Law outside-of-school program
- Oversee and coordinate client registration process at schools aligned with CBFY strategies and protocols
- Collaboratively coordinate and organize field trips, guest speakers, professional development sessions and community events as needed in support of these programs
- Collaboratively support the development of culturally sensitive, effective and actively engaging lesson plans, activities and presentations with Program Staff and the TRIACT Team
- Collaboratively develop and manage the assessment and reporting to effectively measure program outputs, outcomes and impact with Program Staff and the TRIACT Team, reporting to the Program Manager – Enhancements and the Director of Programs as per CBFY timelines and expectations
- Research, develop and recommend new and innovate ways to improve programs as appropriate to enhance the Justice Programs
- Include identity related EDI content in program materials related to marginalization, racism and reduced opportunities/systemic neglect possibilities within the Canadian justice system
- Sustain awareness of the importance of trauma-informed practice in engagement/support of newcomer youth

Communication & Facilitation
- Communicate program, staffing, other information effectively with the Program Managers, Executive Leadership Team, other CBFY Leaders
- Communicate with Program Managers, Executive Leadership in a timely manner regarding high priority and sensitive items (Child Abuse, Sexual Harassment etc.)
- Create and design program promotional material including posters, brochures, advertisements and other types of print and online media in collaboration with CBFY Communications
- Respond to general inquiries from sector partners, the public, schools, clients and/or families as required and appropriate
- Liaise and promote program with schools, community partners
- Present to large and small groups of youth, parents and other stakeholders as required and appropriate

Supervision
- Participate in hiring, training, supervising and evaluating part-time Program Facilitators and Program Volunteers, reporting program outcomes to the Program Manager – Enhancements, and managing a variety of administrative tasks within the scope of Project Management
- Complete performance evaluations for part-time Program Facilitators as per CBFY protocols and expectations
- Supervise and complete evaluations for program participants at school and community program locations and field trips
- Complete reports for funders in collaboration with CBFY staff as per expectations

Other
- Ensure adherence to rules, regulations, protocols and policies of The Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth and their respective partners
- Assure client information is appropriately and confidentially entered into computer databases regularly by Program Staff in collaboration with CBFY Data Management protocols for all forms (i.e. completed registration forms, field trip permission forms, surveys)
- Ensure sufficient material and supplies are on hand for appropriate programs
- Perform other duties of the Program Coordinator role as needed

Qualifications and Requirements:

Education & Experience
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Social Sciences, Education, Community Development, Justice Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in project coordination, program design, or community-based program delivery.
- Experience working with newcomer youth, schools, and/or community organizations.
- Demonstrated experience in partnership development and stakeholder engagement.
- Supervisory experience, including staff hiring, training, and performance evaluation, is an asset.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of issues facing immigrant and refugee youth, particularly in relation to justice, law, and community integration.
- Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, planning, implementation, and reporting.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams and with external partners.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities within deadlines.
- Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other project management or collaboration tools.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends for program activities and events.

- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle are considered assets.
