Youth Program Facilitator (part-time)
Youth Program Facilitator – Multiple Positions Available
(Temporary, Part-time – up to 20 hours/week)
The Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth (CBFY) is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering immigrant and refugee youth and families to successfully integrate into Canadian society. Through a wide range of educational, social, and emotional support programs, CBFY helps newcomer youth transition into life in Calgary and build a foundation for long-term success.
Job Objective
Reporting to the Program Team Lead, the Youth Program Facilitator plays a vital role in creating inclusive, supportive, and engaging environments for immigrant and refugee youth. This position is responsible for fostering English language development, leadership skills, community connections, and positive peer relationships through culturally responsive programming.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Leadership & Youth Engagement
- Create welcoming spaces that encourage participation, belonging, and growth among newcomer youth.
- Facilitate inclusive programming in school premises and other venues in the community in a way that promotes social-emotional learning, leadership, and life skills.
- Cultivate trusting and respectful relationships with youth, supporting their personal and academic development.
- Ensure youth safety and well-being during all program activities, including field trips and events.
- Consistently conduct self in a respectful, professional and ethical manner and contribute to conflict management and resolution efforts.
Program Support & Accountability
- Contribute to the design and delivery of program sessions that reflect the diverse cultural backgrounds and needs of participants.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records, including attendance and incident documentation, to ensure accountability and quality service delivery.
- Align program delivery with organizational values, school district policies, and funder requirements.
- Participate in team planning, reflection, and continuous improvement of program delivery.
- Adhere to and actively participate in the implementation of OHS related expectations and best practice tips.
Mentorship & Team Collaboration
- Provide mentorship to Peer Facilitators and youth leaders, encouraging their growth and confidence.
- Support Youth Workers by sharing observations on participant needs and offering constructive feedback applicable within the scope/focus area of specific programs.
- Work collaboratively with program colleagues to create a cohesive and effective team environment.
Community & Relationship Building
- Strengthen relationships with parents, school staff, and community partners to ensure coordinated support for youth.
- Represent CBFY positively within schools and community spaces, promoting trust and partnership.
- Foster opportunities for youth to connect with their community and build a sense of belonging.

Hours of Work: Up to 20 hours per week
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience working with children and youth, preferably within culturally diverse or immigrant/refugee contexts.
- Strong communication skills in English; additional languages are an asset.
- Confidence in facilitating both small and large groups of youth in varied settings.
- Availability Monday to Thursday, 2:00–6:00 PM, with flexibility for occasional evenings and weekends.
- Access to reliable transportation to program sites.
- Current Standard First Aid certification or ability to obtain before employment.
- Successful Police Clearance and Child Intervention Record Check prior to employment.
