IRCC Assistant Deputy Minister visits CBFY

Thank you to Catherine Scott, Assistant Deputy Minister of Settlement, Integration, and Francophone Affairs, as well as Holly Reynolds and Melanie Holmgren from IRCC for visiting the CBFY office on June 18th. 

We were honored to welcome them into our space and share CBFY’s accomplishments over the last five years.  

During the visit, we provided an update on our current programs and projects, while also highlighting our achievements: supporting more than 11,000 total clients in 2025 and delivering approximately 87 programs each week at more than 80 schools across Calgary. 

We also spoke openly about the challenges CBFY has faced in recent years, including increased demand for our programs and services combined with reduced funding and staffing.

We are grateful for IRCC’s continued support, which enables us to provide programs, mentorship, and opportunities that help newcomer youth and their families thrive. Thanks to IRCC, we are building bridges to belonging for our clients.
