Thank you, TD, for your support and collaboration.
We are proud to welcome TD Bank Group to the Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth family. TD generously donated $100,000 to our Bridges to Community program through its corporate citizen platform, the TD Ready Commitment.
With TD’s support, the Bridges to Community program will begin in March 2026 at select elementary schools. Throughout the six-week program, students will learn and practice essential life skills, including resilience, teamwork, positive attitudes, cultural awareness, personal agency, conflict resolution, and altruism. Students gain these skills through sports, music, drama, art, literature, community service, and cultural experiences.
“At TD, we’re committed to helping communities and organizations create opportunities for people to build meaningful connections in their local community,” said Robert Ghazal, Senior Vice President and Alberta Region Head. “Through the TD Ready Commitment, we are proud to support the Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth and the impactful work they do to engage, support and empower youth through the Bridges to Community program.”
In the last four years, Calgary has welcomed approximately 30,000 newcomer children and youth. Many elementary students face social and emotional challenges as they adjust to new school environments and communities.
The program engages youth through teamwork challenges, mindfulness activities, and movement-based games. Students will also work together on activities designed specifically to build connections and create a strong sense of community among program participants.
Bridges to Community is youth-driven and adaptable – activities and discussions are tailored to the specific needs of each group.
This funding from TD will help our students build meaningful connections within their community, develop friendships, and gain a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them.
Thank you, TD, for funding this vital initiative! The CBFY team is excited to work with you. Together, we will positively impact the lives of newcomer youth.
